About Nature's Own Landscape & Design

Nature’s Own is a landscape design and construction company which primarily serves the Niagara Region from its Pelham location. The company was founded by Steven Van Lochem NPD in 2001. In 2012 Brother's Steven & Ryan decided to become partners and go incorporated under the name Nature’s Own Landscape & Nursery Ltd. Our primary goal is to maintain our reputable commitment to quality, as well as our family run business atmosphere that many of our customers have grown to love.


The landscape design portion of the business is overseen by Steven.  Darren Schmahl NPD is an experienced designer that we work along with as a landscape design consultant, and we work with him on various larger projects.  Steven & Darren are both graduates of the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture. Prior to studying at NPC, Steven also attended and graduated Ridgetown College.

Steve & Ryan oversee and work alongside our 3 skilled landscape supervisors. Each crew consists of 2-3 people and come together as a team to tackle many of our larger projects. By maintaining our small crews we don’t lose sight of our quality that we strive to achieve. Along with our Supervisors we are always trying to maintain a positive work environment that encourages safety, high quality, continuous learning, efficiency & professionalism while keeping our customers satisfaction of utmost importance.


In 2011 due to the demand of our patron customers we began a landscape maintenance division, which is overseen by Ryan. You will see the same professionalism in our maintenance crew as our customers have seen in our construction division. Our staff will ensure that your property is beautifully maintained so that you can get the most out of your well-deserved leisure time.
